Beds
**Annika Guest Post**
Dear Readers,
You may know about cats and beds. We make our beds wherever and whenever it is convenient and comfortable for us. If a surface is warm, soft or both, we will make our beds there. Laps are good, but laps with warm computers are better.
One of my beds is the couch pillow behind my human's head. It's warm and soft and has the added advantage of being above everyone else, which helps me show my dominance of the situation. Yesterday, the human had placed her reading material (pulp mystery novel--pttui!) upon my pillow. Rather than knock it away, I chose rather to make myself comfortable around it. I think it rather makes the point, don't you?
She moved it soon after, which restored my resting spot to its perfect state.

Workies!
Nope, that's not a typo. Daddy drove me, Jeremy and Rosie to visit Mommy at work. Whoo hoo! She works at a big garden packed with smells and nice people. I tried to scoot under the plant tables because I could smell SQUIRREL, but Mommy wouldn't let me. I found a gorgeous scarf and I tried to take it, but Mommy wouldn't let me. Mommy's friend offered me a treat, and Mommy let me!
Unfortunately, we were too busy to take pictures, so you'll have to imagine it with your mind.

Sweater
You may recall that I do NOT love sweater weather. Jeremy and Rosie don't have to wear them, so I'm not sure why I do. Sweaters feel weird on my body! However, it is cold here today and Daddy insisted:
He did give me some love to make up for forcing me into the sweater...
but as you can see from my face, I felt pretty low. I mean, it's better than my old snowman sweater, but I'm not from Norwegianland or wherever this thing comes from.
Warm weather hurry back!

Kitty Food
As you may recall, twice a week we finish off the cat's wet food. It's a super exciting event because...Kitty Food! Rosie gets so excited that she has to wait in her room until Annika finishes, or she will bite Mommy when she gets the dish off of Annika's tower. Jeremy and I, however, are patient.
Very patient.
It always pays off.
ed. note: wow, what a screen capture from the tv!

Daddy's Home!
Daddy came home after a week away. I missed him because Mommy walked us and got impatient by the end of the week. I just wanted to eat some acorns!
Anyway, Daddy slept a lot on Saturday and his naps carried over to Sunday. I'm not sure what he was doing, but it must have been exhausting. Jeremy and I helped him sleep:
Now Daddy is back to work and I have to snuggle by myself. It's not the same.

Snowcut
Daddy promised to shave Snow last time she came, but he didn't have time. On Thanksgiving, he got out his shears.
Unfortunately, Mommy and Daddy got out the scissors to try to get some of the long hairs off first and Snow got cut. The vet stitched her back together and Daddy finished the haircut the next day. Mommy didn't take any photos because she was worried about how Snow's mom and dad would feel. She looks super cute, but I guess you'll have to take my word for it!

Lulu
Lulu's daddies went away this weekend and left her at our house. She loves us and fits right in, but I get a little jealous. Here we are cuddling with Daddy during Saturday naptime:
I retained my primo spot, though, and you can see that I let my foot slip a little toward Lulu's head:
Sorry, Lu. I must protect my place in the pack!

Last Snow Day
Snow goes home today and I am SAD. Mommy keeps saying that Remi and Half Pint might come over, but they're not Snow! Anyway, Mommy tried to take some pictures of Snow for me, but it's difficult because she moves so fast. Here are the best ones.
Snow is playing with Monkey to try to get me to play.
Mommy says this is the face she wakes up to every morning, as Snow jumps on her and demands a full body cuddle.
And finally, a rare still shot, as Snow got distracted by a noise outside (Mr. Kelly was about to ring the doorbell).

Betwixt and Between
Snow visited last weekend and will be back this weekend. In between, I'm trying very hard to catch up on my sleepy winky times. It is hard because I have to get up every once in a while to bark at things and also Auntie Nessa came over last night and I had to love on her because she was in a stinky mood.
Here's me this morning:
Ultra sleepy winky!

Fortified
Jeremy loves his forts. He usually builds them out of pillows. While Daddy was gone, Jeremy decided that he needed a control fort. He likes to watch everyone to make sure we don't get up to too many shenanigans. Here are a few pictures:
You can see his butt poking out. Here's another:
Oops, I think he fell asleep in there!

Spoiled
I am the most spoiled princess of all spoiled princesses! Not only does General do what I want (ed.: she does what he tells her and she loves it), Mami lets me sit on her lap while she's drinking her tea.
I can't stay--I have to go make sure that no dropped food lingers on the floor while Mami is cooking dinner.

This Appeared
When I was still mostly a puppy, I used to think that everything was alive. Statues of frogs and bunnies? Alive! Christmas Santas? Alive! Now I (mostly) know better, but a few things still throw me off. Here's a forinstance:
Mommy put this owl on top of a pumpkin. It looks disturbingly real, like if I get too close it will bite my nose. Just in case, I don't get too close!

Dog Fest, Redox
A few weeks ago, Mommy and Daddy went to visit the chimps. Auntie Nessa stayed with us and brought Hunter and Bunny to play with me. This weekend, Auntie Nessa went away and left B&H with her brother. They were NOT happy. Who can blame them? They were not at my house. Anyway, Daddy went to rescue them and now we're all together, except for Rosie. Since Hunter and Rosie don't get along, Rosie is next store with Mr. Kelly.
Yesterday, while Mommy worked, we tried to get some playtime started. At first things were slow...
then the pace picked up:
Since it's Sunday morning, we're all currently relaxitating. I put off my nap to post this, but I'd better get to it!

House Guest
Mommy brought home this thing last week. I'd smelled it before, when she was working at the wildlife center, although this one is a bit more...pungent. That means Extra Smelly. He lives in a cage in our dining room because if we put him in a room away from us, he gets very upset. He makes a very loud noise which makes all of us bark. I admit, it's kind of exciting. He made the sound the other day when Mommy sneezed. I guess it scared him!
Here is a picture of me sniffing him:
and one of his cage:
If you look closely, you'll see his wicker hut at the top (it's on its side because he kept knocking if over when we had it there). You should see it now--he's chewed half of it up!
Mommy said that Charlie (our house guest) is a dog, but I don't think he looks much like us. He doesn't go on walkies and he eats green things. What do you think he is?

Sunday Sleepies
Mommy read her book while everyone else slept. Pictures of Charlie came out dark and Rosie was in her room, but the rest of us were photogenic as ever. You can see that Daddy is holding onto Jeremy's tail like a blankie and my paws are poking out from under the covers.
Here you can see that Annika also slept nearby.
Ah...sleepytimes!

Hunter
Hunter is Bunny's older brother/uncle? Anyway, he lives with Auntie Nessa's mom. He's a big scaredy cat and Rosie scares the poop out of him (literally). The last time he came over, he not only pooped on the floor, he pushed open the gate and ran away. Silly Hunter! He never sits still, so it's tough to get a good picture of him:

Monkey
Monkeys make the best toys. I always try to keep one around. This is my latest monk monk acquisition, replacing my 2 or 3 legged monkey. I take him to Mommy so she'll throw him, then I bring him back, we tug, and so on. Sometimes Mommy forgets to throw and I get tired.
Luckily, this monkey makes an excellent pillow!

Early Bunny Visit
Mommy and Daddy are not on vacation yet, but Auntie Nessa came over to tell us about her first day of school. She's teaching people all about Pirosophy and Pethics, which I think is all about treating animals correctly. No idea what Pirosophy is! Anyway, I was so happy to see her (and NOT jealous that Bunny was on her lap) that I got all snuggly buggly.
Then Bunny and I played!

Vacation Soon
Mommy and Daddy go away sometimes. Usually they leave us with various friends, but this time Auntie Nessa is coming to stay with us. I'm trying not to think about it because I hate it when Mommy goes away, especially when she takes Daddy with her. However, if Auntie Nessa stays with us, Bunny will also be here. Yay!
