Summer Obsession

One day, as I walked along the sidewalk, I noticed something interesting. Daddy saw me looking and kicked it. It hurtled along, going this way and that, and I caught it. I ran back to Daddy, dropped it, and he kicked it again.

Thus began the summer of the pine cone.

Mommy makes me leave them outside, so they've piled up in the front of the house. Pretty impressive stash, no?

Pine cones are a blast!

Rainy Days

I love rainy days.

They are perfect for relaxing on the couch, reading a book, dozing off, and dreaming.

Jeremy doesn't like them as much because he gets scared when Thunder Man comes, but between storms he sleeps like a baby.

Wind Beneath My Wings

I've discovered lots of good napping spots in our house. There's the couch, the other couch, Mommy and Daddy's laps, the bed, the bathroom rug, even the floor. Sometimes, though, a girl just needs to feel a little whisper, a zephyr, a breeze of the slightest proportions.

Slap Fest

Daddy likes to get Jeremy all riled up, chasing his tail, barking, pretending biting his face off. We call this game, generally, Slap Fest. It looks a bit like this:

and this:

and this.

I like to play, too, but my favorite thing is when Kitty comes over and baps him for getting too wild.

Cousins and other relatives

Mommy visited some of her family. She got to walk Alex, her sister's dog, pet Choice, her other sister's cat, and she got to meet her cousin's dogs. Here is Lila. Doesn't she look like me with straight hair?

Here's one of me to compare.

I would like to invite her over to play, but Mommy says she lives too far away.

Comfort and style

Our new sofa arrived on Friday. It is very long and turns the corner.

It is so big it took three pictures to capture.

There is room for everyone to sit or lie down, which I am about to do right now.

I love my new couch!

Feelin' the love

Jeremy is such a baby. He sits in Mommy's lap just like a human baby and I think that's disgusting.

Mommy's all, "coocookechoo, Jeremy." Gross.

Playing it up for the camera and everything. I can't believe he'd do that.

Why isn't Mommy holding me in her lap?

That's better!

We Three

Bunny is visiting again. She came for the weekend but Mommy asked her to stay the whole week! You can see that she is not feeling 100%.

She had surgery on her leg and she is hobbling around, although she still plays with me so that's okay.

In this photo, see the empty space on the couch? That's Mommy's spot. We surround her in case anything happens, like she drops something. This week is awesome!

CoL

I know non-dogs probably think it's silly, but really the Cult of Lobsty is really the best religion to have. It's based on playtimes,

there's no jealousy of other toys,

and Lobsty matches my collar.

Jeremy George

I woke up for a moment from my nap, so I figured you might enjoy this hilarious photo of Daddy making Jeremy sit up like a monkey:

I would never let myself be so undignified.

Oh, oops!

Tug!

How cute are Pixie and Lulu playing tug, you're asking yourself. Well, pretty darned cute.

So adorable.

Especially when Lulu is doing the playbow, while we're tugging.

I am also looking festive while chewing the rope to bits.

Don't you want to come play with me?

New Camera

Grandpa and Grandma got us a new camera, so we have lots of new pictures to share!

When they first came home, Mommy was sick, so we spent time lying on the bed while Daddy unpacked. Mommy's pig neck pillow had some taste on it so I licked it for her.

You can see the new bedspread they brought back for us. It contrasts nicely with our fur, especially Jeremy's.

Then, over the 4th of July, Lulu came to stay for a whole week! At first she was nervous but we convinced her that Jeremy would scare away all of the monsters.

Here is his "I don't put up with any crap" face:

Miss Reba came to visit. She took care of us while our parents were in India. I have her thank you kisses.

Last night, Auntie and Uncle finally came to visit. We always go to their house, which is nice because of the car ride, but we wanted them to see our toys. Turns out, Auntie is Annika's favorite.

She gives amazing kitty back scratches.

I need to go take my nap, so that is all for now.

Where's my Jeremy?

Jeremy is at the vet, having his teeth cleaned. As he is affectionately known around here as "stink breath", "sewer mouth", etc., I'd say it's about time. I miss him so much I could barely eat my breakfast. I managed to choke it down, half-heartedly play several games of fetch, and now I'm about to take my late-morning nap. Just to prove how much I miss my Jerms, here are two lovely photos:

Telegraph Bed

Before Mommy and Daddy went away, Annika set up a transmitting station under their suitcases. While temporary, Fort KittyPants exceeded all kitty-military expectations.

Also exceeding expectations: the Daddy Cuddle Station. It's a walk-in only station, meaning you can't make reservations and you have to visit when its open.

Luckily, multiple canines can be served at once.

Vacation

Mommy and Daddy were gone for almost 3 weeks. I still can't believe they left me behind! However, before they left Snow came over for a while. She's great at getting Mommy to let us outside.

This was before she took us to the groomers and they cut off ALL of my fur. I was practically bald, even my feet.

Instead of that, let's see some pictures from India.

Here's one of the stinky dogs, Sumo, getting brushed by Grandpa.

I can't believe there aren't any pictures of my cousins Cadju (spelling?) and Bingo, so look at this monkey scratching his (oops, her) butt:

I will leave you with one of the big kitties who live outside instead of having their own room in the house.

BFFs Rock

Snow has arrived. Here are some pictures from last weekend when she came over for dinner.

We get to have a week and a half long sleepover!

I am already tired.

Our Garden

Mommy planted some herbs a while back.

They are growing well, but the cucumbers have died. Oh well--I don't really like cucumbers much anyway.

Mommy and Daddy ordered a big pile of dirt and then they used it to fill up the second and third beds. No new plants yet, but we are hopeful for a hotdog bush to start growing soon!

Could this be one?
