Bafftime

Daddy likes to tease Jeremy about getting a bath. Jeremy runs and hides next to someone, anyone, he thinks will protect him from the evil bathtime.

After he's done, he feels so relieved. I have to get a bath every stinkin' two weeks.

Sometimes Mommy bathes me but yesterday Daddy did.

Now I'm all clean and fluffy, but it's NOT worth it! I think I will go pout now.

Attention, please!

I've been trying so hard lately to get a little attention from Mommy.

If she's at home, she's busy working. Most of the time she's at work or out somewhere else, like the A/V swap or a funeral or buying litter for the pigs or running. I'm tired of it! I demand more attention, and so does Annika.

I'm protesting by not giving her the time of day and sleeping with Daddy. So there.

Daddy's Girl

Just like my mommy, I'm a Daddy's girl. Mommy used to ride around on the lawn mower with her daddy, but we have a push mower, so I can't ride on it. I found another way to be close to my daddy.

Last night, we talked to Grandma and Grandpa on skype. It was a little confusing, but that Grandma lady promised me treats, so I can't wait to meet her. She seems like a great friend of dogs!

Cats vs. Dogs

Cats

vs.

Dogs

There are many differences between cats and dogs, but there is one huge difference at our house. We (Jeremy and I) go wherever Mommy and Daddy are, whereas Kitty follows her own path. She has her own room, for goodness sake! Sure, she comes out when she wants company or pets, but she spends the majority of her time lounging on her kitty condo, looking out of her window, ignoring us.

Fridays

Daddy usually works half days on Fridays, which is great. We get to sleep in, we get to play and nap with him, and best of all, Auntie Nessa brings my bff Bunny over to play.

Mommy came home in a stinky mood but we were able to cheer her up pretty quickly. My favorite trick is to lick her ear. That always makes her laugh!

Thunder & Lightning

Right now it's raining. It wouldn't be a big deal except that Jeremy gets scared and barks...a lot...and very loudly. He is scared of Thunder Man. Me, I just wait it out. Mommy is also waiting for it to end because we all want to go outside for a walk. Hurry up, rain!

p.s. Sorry I haven't posted as much as usual lately. Mommy has been busy and tired from work so I don't want to bug her about using the computer.

Weekends

Weekends usually mean visitors around our house. When visitors come over, Jeremy prefers to chill out.

I, on the other hand, enter a frenzy.

Visitors are good, but tiring.

Cuddling 101

Cuddling is a very important part of being a dog. Some dogs do not seem to know how to do it correctly. The key thing is to be very, very close to the person or dog you're cuddling.

You'll see that Jeremy is lying so that Daddy can easily pet his head. If he wanted his butt scratched, he'd position himself differently.

Lying on your co-cuddler isn't necessary, as you'll see in this side-cuddle position I've adopted.

Remember, stay photogenic. The cuter you are, the more cuddling you'll get. Jeremy is a champion!

Bath Time

When my fur gets long, everything I pass by tends to get caught in it. It doesn't feel so great when Mommy pulls it out with a comb. Sometimes my fur gets nice and stinky and Mom makes me take a bath.

Daddy gave me my bath this morning and patted me dry.

After a bath, I always feel frisky!

Work

Mommy and Daddy go off to this place (thing?) called Work. I don't know where or what it is, but I hate it. I like it when Mommy stays home all day, preferably lying quietly on the couch so I can nap on or near her.

She went back to Work this week, which means Jeremy and I are alone all day. I don't really count Kitty because she stays in her room, or the guinea pigs because they can't leave their cage. It's boring.

Lobsty Love

Lobsty is one of the best toys ever invented. It's got ropes to grab onto and big claws to sink my teeth into. It's a little bit heavy to drag around but it's easier to handle when I'm lying down.

While I played, Jeremy practiced his sleepy time leg formation. See how they are perfectly aligned?

Sorry this post is late. Mommy wouldn't let me write this morning because she didn't want to be late for her date with this guy. Hummphhh!

More Little People

More friends came to visit. Not four-legged ones, unfortunately, but two big people and two small ones. I got tired out trying to lick everyone. Daddy let one of them give treats to Jeremy and me.

We got lots of compliments about not begging at the table.

I wanted to play with Mommy's raccoon all evening, but I wasn't allowed (pout!).

Eating

We get fed twice each day. We used to have food out, but Jeremy got chubby and also we eat different foods. Mommy or Daddy measure our food and make us sit nicely before we eat. Sometimes they forget to feed us on time but we are usually polite and wait until they remember. They never let us go hungry!

We like to get extra snacks and the best place to get those is underneath a small person. Yesterday, our cousin was over and I got a bit of kolache sausage that she dropped. I heard Mommy telling her not to feed us from the table so I know she dropped it by accident. That's the nice thing about small people--they are clumsy!

Pets or Grooming?

When Mommy comes my hair, it doesn't feel great. It kind of hurts, actually. I put up with it because it makes me look beautiful. Jeremy loves getting combed and brushed. While I was getting pretty, he begged and begged for combies. When Mommy finished with me, she gave in and combed Jeremy. You can see here that he loved it.

My friend Bunny also came to visit yesterday. She was in a very sproingy mood and we played a lot.

Old Photos

Mommy discovered a bunch of old pictures that used to be on her phone, until she broke it. Daddy put them on the computer so she didn't lose them. Here is one of me and Austin at Christmas last year.

Here is one of me and Mommy snuggling.

Here is one me by myself. I'm awfully cute.

By the way, it's amazing how much faster it is to upload photos from Daddy's big computer than from Mommy's laptop.

Toys

I love my toys! I have Lobsty, Pink Baby, Squirrel, Clifford, Hippo, and some braided tug toys. I know that seems like plenty, but I crave more. Mommy hides some toys from me but I want them! Here are some examples:

Monk Monk, the Screaming Monkey

Pretty Lady (she is supposed to look like Mommy)

Whenever I see them, I look up at them and whine. I want somebody to give them to me! Won't you help?

Not Fair

Mom & Dad and Aunty Chivonne and Uncle Jon went to the baseball game last night and I didn't get to go. Not only did I have to stay home, Austin didn't even come to visit.

It does look like they had a nice time...

And Mommy did give me lots of pets when she got home...

Relax!

All of us spent most of the day lying down.

The party tired us out, and Mommy wasn't feeling very good. She promised she would go to the vet today. We laid on the couch, we laid on the floor, we laid on the bed. At one point, in the evening, I mustered enough energy for playtime.

After that it was time for bed!

Housewarming Party

So my friends came over last night and played with me. My doggie friends who came were Bunny, Austin and Lulu. Also there were three babies. Their moms mostly didn't let me lick them, which is too bad because babies smell really good at both ends.

Neighbors and old friends joined up and everyone brought lots of food, not that Mommy hadn't made a ton (she had!), and drinks, not that Daddy hadn't bought plenty (he had!) and we snuck some snacks. Mostly, though, I was busy running around and playing.

I was so tired by the end of the night that I could barely stay away, although I helped Daddy clean up even though he tried to get me to go to sleep.

It's Pronounced "Pahty"

Mommy and Daddy are throwing a housewarming party this evening. Mommy baked a whole lot of good things yesterday and wouldn't even let me lick the beaters. Daddy put out all of his fancy glasses and they look really pretty.

I think Bunny and Lulu are coming to play (paws crossed) and maybe even Austin. Also there will be lots of people to throw my toys for me.

Although Mommy says I can't have any people food, I can always hope our visitors are clumsy people.
